Basic Pattern for State Square

Materials:                                                                      

H crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.              

Small amounts of yarn in color needed for each state.                           

Gauge:

4 sc = 1”

4 rows of sc = 1”

Square: 7"

Instructions:

Row 1: With main color on graph, ch 26. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (25 sc)

Row 2-27: Following the graph for color changes, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Border: 2 rows of Sc evenly around the square with black yarn, making 3 sc in each corner.

Finish: Using needle and yarn make a star to mark the capital.
