Dear Online Angels, Thank you so very much for the wonderful surprise last night when I got home from work! You have no idea how blessed I feel to have you in our lives! It is pretty cold and snowy right now in Nebraska and the hats will be great gifts for the kids. (my son is a big Scooby Doo, and Pokemon fan so you couldn’t have picked out better ones.) The stuffed animals are so cute and I can’t wait to give my kids the stockings. I have wonderful memories of playing Battleship when I was younger, and can’t wait to play it with my kids, and my mom is a big puzzle fan. All of the goodies in the box are so welcomed and will be enjoyed by us all. I am struggling so much, on so many levels with the Holidays this year. I don’t think you can even imagine how much your kindness and generosity means to me. I am in tears as I write this because I feel like there truly are “Angels” watching over us, and they show you their love just when you need it the most!! I'd like to thank you for the wonderful blankie. Yep, I call it a blankie. It has been to the Cleveland Clinic with me each and every time I have been hospitalized. I have spent about 4 months total in 2003 in the hospital. Going through Chemo and surgery, it was my comfort blankie. Just having it made me feel better. It is always out on the couch at home, and when anyone asks about it I tell them it is from Online-Angels, and someone thought enough of me to have one sent to me. I don't think anyone will understand what a wonderful surprise it is to get one and what it means to the person who gets it. Thank you to you and the person who thought enough of me to send it. The reason I am asking is I was telling my Aunt Ethel about Corinne and her package and stuff like that. Her brother-in-law went to Florida for a visit and got very sick while he was there and isn't doing well now. They aren't sure yet what is wrong or how long he will live. When my family's name was submitted to receive a box for Christmas, the person didn't know I was a member of this group. For that, I must say I'm sorry. I realize that I am a quiet member. After the Christmas rush, I hope to be more active in the group. I know I want to be on a February team. I love making wheelchair totes and I have a lot of yarn I need to use. I've had my own room for it and now I'm "trying" to move it all into a closet. That's not working out so well. :-) Anyway, the reason for this post is to thank all of you for helping my children have a wonderful Christmas. Without the help of Online Angels and Rhonda with Hooks N Grannies help, my children wouldn't of had much, if any, of a Christmas this year. This is the first year ever that I haven't been able to provide Christmas for my children. I am thankful for the years that I have been able to, and I am thankful for those of you that have provided it for them this year. I wish there was a way for me to thank each and everyone of you personally. I must say, I am so thankful that I have found such a caring and giving group as this. Thank you again! Heidi

Dear Online Angels Thank you for sending the Loveghan I requested for William Frey. He received the box this morning and I received a very excited phone call from him. He called to read me the letter and tell me all about the package he received from you. He doesn't know who requested it, but he says it's from someone who loves him. From the way he sounded this morning, he is calling everyone he knows to tell them about this package. It really brightened up his day!! I promised him that we would be up to see what was sent this weekend. Thank you for being so kind and to brighten this elderly gentleman's day. Hello ....sometime ago....I believe this last past summer ...online angels sent a box to my daughter in law's grandmother....Her name was Jackie Huston.....This past Monday she passed.....I want to thank you and online angels.... Jackie Huston never knew that I requested the box....and she never knew who any of you are....But that is not important...What is important is this....Your gift of love touched this little woman's heart so much that she framed your letter...the ghan she treasured....On next tuesday we will have a memorial for her...Your letter will be proudly placed nearby... So from the bottom of my heart I thank you and send my wishes of love to you.... I once was a member of online angels....I left because I was so overwhelmed by things in my own life....Today while standing in a line I met a member of online angels....she said she is not a member you here from often...she is quiet...gets patterns and donates to our local hospital....Its a small world... Dear Angels A good while ago I received a box in the mail from you, I was really at a low point in my life. Lost Mom to Alzheimers & then Dad started losing his memory. I opened the box & I found the most beautiful afghan & other loving items. I will never forget that day. Everytime I wrap myself up in the afghan I feel my Moms arms around me. SHe was not only an angel on earth she is our angel in heaven. You gave me the strength to face things & get up & get back w/living & the people who loves me. Dad is now in a nursing home & it is clean, warm, & so many loving people taking care of him. I tried to take care of him but he needs professional people who know how to take care of him properly. When I go to visit him my guilt gets less & less. Please thank all of the angels for me. My love to all. Pat

I have to share with all of you about a box which was sent to a friend of mine last month who is very ill and has been told she only has about six months. She loved everything in the box and since she is literally unable to get up unassisted from the chair, her kids put a fiber optic tree in her room. (The main tree is on another level). They decorated it with the angels from the box. It has since become known as "the angel tree" and visitors seem to bring more angels to decorate it. This means so much to her since she is unable to get around. We do so much good as a group - we all deserve a pat! Hearing from individuals who have received a box and the joy it has brought them makes it all worthwhile. Her family has been invited to light the candles as church Christmas Eve and they are all hoping to be there, with her in a wheelchair, if at all possible. She has been a member of the same church for nearly 70 years and will most likely be her last visit, she is just too ill to go out. Happy holidays to all! Joan

Ladies, FedEx left a package at my door this morning, we'd went to meet our daughter 1/2 way to get the grandkids for the weekend. What a wonderful thing you have all done!!!! IT'S AWESOME!!! Mom loved her afghan so much that she took it to the hospital and nursing home each time..when she lapsed into the coma one of my sisters brought it to the hospital..mom was so proud of hers. Dear Angel-Friends, I am speechless and feel so loved! I had to go to the Dr. with my DH today (my first time out since Monday - thanks to that lousy Pneumonia) and when we got home there waiting for me was my wonderful Loveghan Box. I'm sitting here typing to you all and feel even closer to each and every one of you because I am wrapped in my loveghan! When I look at all the work that goes into each box, I am in awe and so completely humbled to be a part of your wonderful group. I have made many knitted afghans, etc. in the past and have been so happy to give them with love to whomever needed or wanted it, but I have never had one of my very own. The angels are exquisite and the beautiful blue cross is the exact color of my youngest daughter's eyes - the magnet sits happily on the fridge holding the next mailing label to Mary. Dear Mary, I thought I would let you know that Lori received her box from the Angels today. She is absolutely delighted. She was thrilled with all the "little things", especially the bookmark made by the ten year old boy, Danny. What a delight! Shirley said the quilt is beautiful and she placed it on her bed. The nurses have all been stopping by commenting on the quilt, etc. The cards have started arriving. In the past I had sent cards to various people (kids/adults) from online requests. Now I know for sure how important that little effort is...just a card means so much. I haven't made much progress on my hat I started for the Angels but will get it (and more) done for you. I have been so tired after work this week and not having slept much prior to that, that I eat, take a bath and go to bed! The old grey mare ain't what she used to be! Mary, A box arrived yesterday for Lori. I took it over to the hospital this morning and I wish that you could have seen the look on her face! She looked each little item over so carefully and then when she saw the lapghan, I thought that she was going to cry. The nurses put it over her legs and everyone stops to look at it and tell her how much they love the blankie and how much they love her. I know that as soon as Lori is able, she will write and thank you herself. Words simply cannot express my gratitude to all of you....thanks Hugs, Shirley

The staff at the hospice was very impressed with it and may be asking for more for other patients. My MIL passed away on April 14 and we are saving her afghan to donate to another person in need. Dear Online Angels, I just received a special delivery via Fed Ex and was so overwhelmed and touched by it's contents that I needed a moment to absorb the beauty of such a precious gift. Someone had submitted our families name to your web site due to the recent birth of our daughter who arrived at 28 weeks and shortly after her birth I was taken back into the operating room because of excessive bleeding, after 7 hours of surgery and 3 separate operations and 2 near death moments I was wheeled into the ICU and now am on my way to a full recovery, our daughter born at 2lbs 5oz is doing well, she is 2 weeks old today and I can't be more proud of her strength and will to be here with us, your special package came at a time when I was sitting alone thinking of her beautiful face and anticipating my visit to see her later today. I don't know who submitted our name but I am grateful and blessed to have someone out there keeping us in their thoughts and prayers. The love-ghan and the baby love-ghan as well as the precious little hat are so beautiful and you can feel the love when you wrap it around yourself, the hand made crosses and angels are wonderful keepsakes, we plan on taking them to the hospital and placing them at our daughters bedside to watch over her as she grows and develops. We plan on being one of your Online Angels with some sort of donation, please let us know what is most needed and we'll make sure we donate it so another family in need can experience what I just did.
